Nursing & Healthcare

Germany’s shortage of care staff is the most acute of any sector, and it is the route with the most consistent intake for Indian applicants. It is also the most demanding on language: you cannot work on a ward at B1.

What is hard about this route

B2 is not negotiable and typically takes 10–14 months from zero. The work is physically and emotionally demanding, and shift patterns include nights and weekends. Candidates who want a desk job should look at another sector.

What you will be paid

We do not publish a figure for this sector, because no primary source reports reliable per-sector apprentice pay. Nationally the statutory minimum is €724 a month in 2026, and the first-year average among collectively bargained employers was €1,117 in 2025.

Which of those you get depends on whether your employer is bound by a collective agreement. We check that and tell you before you sign anything.
