What is hard about this route

Expect the highest rejection rate of any sector on this list. German banks recruit conservatively and generally prefer local applicants. We take on banking candidates selectively and will be direct about your odds.

What you will be paid

We do not publish a figure for this sector, because no primary source reports reliable per-sector apprentice pay. Nationally the statutory minimum is €724 a month in 2026, and the first-year average among collectively bargained employers was €1,117 in 2025.

Which of those you get depends on whether your employer is bound by a collective agreement. We check that and tell you before you sign anything.
