Germany’s Ausbildung route is a newer addition to that landscape for many local consultancies, and it works differently enough from a standard study-visa application that it’s worth checking whether a given Hyderabad consultancy actually understands the distinction, rather than assuming expertise in one transfers automatically to the other.
Ausbildung is not a student visa process — check that they know this
A consultancy well-versed in university admissions and student visas is solving a different problem: helping you get admitted to a course and prove financial capacity to study. Ausbildung is fundamentally an employment relationship — a German company hires you as a trainee and pays you — layered with a specific vocational training visa category. A quick way to test understanding: ask a Hyderabad-based consultancy to explain, in their own words, the difference between the training-contract visa route and a general work-seeker visa. A confident, specific, accurate answer is a good sign; a generic “it’s basically like other Germany visas” answer is not.
What to check
- Registration and GST, verified independently before you pay anything.
- A named German employer and trade — ask directly which company and which Ausbildungsberuf (recognised training occupation) you’d be placed into.
- A real signed training contract shown before major payment, not just promised later.

Local language-training access
Goethe-Institut’s India branch network includes Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune — Hyderabad is not currently among them. That’s not disqualifying for a local consultancy’s language programme, but it’s a reason to ask more precisely how theirs is structured, delivered, and certified, rather than assuming a Goethe-affiliated standard by default.

- Ask for registered legal name and GST number; verify independently.
- Ask them to explain the Ausbildung visa category accurately and specifically.
- Request a redacted real training contract from a past candidate.
- Get the fee schedule and refund terms in writing, staged against milestones.
- Confirm the language course’s certifying body and total classroom hours.
